Self- immolation in satika yoga fire
Maheshwar
Shiva started roaming happily on kailash along with his Adishakti Bhagwati
Sati. Seeing the natural love of that divine couple, Lord Shiva rejoiced in
joy. Nature also started welcoming Uma- Maheshwar daily in the form of its
blooming forests and clear lakes. In this way, a lot of time passed while
Vishveshwar Bhootnath Shiva was enjoying the company of Bhagwati Sati.
Once upon a
time, Lord Rudra was passing through Dadakaranya with Sati. There he saw Lord
Rama along with Lakshmana, who were wandering from forest in search of his
beloved Sita, who had been treacherously lost by Ravana, Shri Ram, distraught
with grief, shouted in a loud voice- ‘Ha Sita! Ha Sita!!’ They were crying and
crying. At that time. Mahadev bowed with great reverence and saluted him by
saying ‘Ji Sachchidananda’.
Sati ji was
astonished you see this act of Lord Shiva. He asked Lord Shankar- ‘Lord! Why
are you paying such humble obeisance to these two princes like a devotee?
Maheshwara
said, ‘Goddess! These two are not ordinary princes. He has appeared in the
house of the great king Dasaratha of the Sun dynasty. These two are Lord Vishnu
and Shesha himself, who are performing human activities for the welfare of the
creation in the form of Shri Rama and Lakshmana. But Sati, fascinated by
Shiva’s illusion, did not believe his words.
Lord Shiva
said- ‘Dear! If you do not believe what I say, then go there yourself and test
Shri Ram with your discretion. Till then I will wait for you under this banyan
tree. Sati out of temptation took the form of sita and went to test Shri Ram.
Raghukulnandan Shri Ram Sab
Got to know
something. He bowed to sati and said laughing- ‘Goddess! You are along in this
why have you come to the forest? Where is Lord Shambhu and why have you assumed
this new form?’ Sati ji felt very ashamed and returned back to Lord Shankar.
Mahadev asked ‘Goddess! How did you test Lord Shri Ram? Satine replied- ‘Lord!
I did not taken any exam, just like you, I returned after paying obeisance. By
meditating, Antaryami Shiva came to know the entire character of Sati and in
his mind he became detached from Sati.
Once Daksha

Seeing Satina leaving, she asked Lord Shankar – ‘Lord! Where are these gods
going?’
Maheshwar Shiva said- ‘Goddess! Your father Daksh has organized a huge
yagya. All these gods are going to participate in it. Those who go to someone’s
house without being invited both of us in that yagya. Those who go to someone’s
house without being invited are liable to be insulted and insult is more
painful that death. Therefore, both of us should never go there.
When Sati did not agree even after repeated refusal of Lord Shankar,
then Maheshwar sent her to Daksh along with his sixty thousand followers. Sati
became very angry after not seeing Lord shiva’s part in the yagya and burnt her
body to ashes by burning it in the fire of Yoga. There was havoc all around.
Rudragan got angry and started destroying the Yagya. Somehow Maharishi Bhrigun
protected the Yagya with Rakshoghana Mantra
