Appearance of Veerbhadra and destruction of Daksh- Yagya
Shivganas told the
news of Bhagwati Sati being burnt to ashes in Yogagrim to Lord Shiva.
Shivganas said-
‘Maheshwar. Daksh is very wicked and arrogant. On reaching there he insulted
Goddess Sati. That evil person did not give a share in the yagya. Lord On not
seeing our participation in the Yagya, Satidevi became angry and insulting her
father Daksh, she burnt her body to ashes in the Yogaggri temple. We became angry at Daksh and his associates, out
of pride, have insulted you especially . Now do as you wish.
Hearing this from his
followers, Lord Rudra’s body burned with anger. Rudra, the destroyer of people,
uprooted a lock of hair from his head and angrily threw it on the mountain.
That lock of hair broke into two pieces and a terrible sound was made. From one
part of the matted hair, the mighty Veerbhadra appeared. They looked like the
fire of destruction. His body was very tall and he had a thousand arms.
Mahakali appeared from the second part of the lock of hair, who was extremely
formidable were visible.
Veerbhadra bowed to
Lord Shiva and said – ‘Maharudur. Give me order quickly. What work do I need to
do at the time? By your grace I can dry up all the oceans and grind all the
mountains in just half a second. Maheshwar. I can burn the entire universe to
ashes in a single moment. Lord. The power that is within me. It has been
achieved ony by your grace. Therefore, please immediately order me for your
desired work.
Lord Shankar said-
Veerbhadra! Brahmaji’s son Daksh has become very evil. That The fool has beome
very proude. You destroy his yagya and give appropriate punishment to all the
people who took part in ir and return to me immediately. If anyone oppses you,
burn him to ashes. Cut off the head of the arrogant Daksha and drink the water
from the Sacrificial pot.
After receiving the
permission of Lord Shankar, Veerbhadra reached Dakshayagya along with all the
Shiva devotees. They started injuring the gods present there with their sharp
arrows. After being hit by arrows All the gods ran here and there in ten
directions. Then Veerbhadra went to the Yagyashala along with Shivganas. Seeing
his fierce from, all the sages became extremely frightened. He dismembered the sages and gods. The majestic
Veerbhdra picked up Bhrigu, threw him and tore his beard and moustache. The
pulled out Pusha’s teeth, because whenDaksh was abusing Mahadeviji, Pusha was
laughing showing his teeth. Nandini angrily threw Bhaga on the ground and
gouged out his eyes, because when Daksh was cursing Lord Shiva, Bhaga was
supporting him with the signals of his eyes, The Rudraganas also caused severe
plight to the goddesses like Swaha and Swadha present there. Daksh hid inside
out of fear. Veerbhadra dragged him out forcefully and hit him on the head with
a sword. At first, due to the power of Yoga, Daksha’s head was not cut off, but
ultimately Veerbhadra broke the head of Daksha, the traitor of Shiva, by crushing it and threw him into the
burning fire Yagya kund. In this way, after destroying the yagya, Veerbhadra
returned to Kailash along with the Shiva devotee
