History of Amarnath Cave
Amarnath Cave, located in Jammu and Kashmir, is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Lord Shiva. The cave is believed to be more than 5,000 years old and has immense religious significance in Hinduism.

According to mythology, Lord Shiva told the secret of immortality to Goddess Parvati in this cave. During this time, a pair of pigeons also heard this secret and they also became immortal. Even today, a pair of pigeons is seen in the cave, which is considered a symbol of Shiva and Parvati.

The Amarnath cave is believed to be more than 5,000 years old, and is also mentioned in the Mahabharata period.
Pilgrimages
The Amarnath Yatra, which takes place in the months of July and August, is a difficult journey but devotees undertake this journey to seek blessings of Lord Shiva.
Amarnath Cave is called the "pilgrimage of pilgrimages" because it is here that Lord Shiva told Mata Parvati the secret of immortality.
According to some beliefs, the Amarnath cave was discovered in 1850 by a Muslim shepherd named Buta Malik.
