Prayer of the Gods and forgiveness to Daksha.
The sage and the god,
distresses by being defeated by the Rudras in the Daksha yag, went to Brahma.
Brahma was also anxious in grief for his son Daksha becausehis head was burnt
in the sacrificial pit. Then Brahma went to Lord Vishnu with the gods and
sages.
Brahma said to Lord
Vishnu, ‘Lord! By the order of Lord Rudra, the Shivas dismembered the gods and
burnt the head of Daksha in the sacrificial pit, destroying their sacrifice.
God! Take measures in such a way that the sacrifice is completed, Daksha and
his priests come alive and the sages and gods are happy. Ramanath! We have all
come to you for protection’.
Lord Vishnu said,
‘Creator! All the gods and sages are guilty of Lord Shiva, because these people
did not give them their share of the sacrifice. Now you should try to please
the same Lord Mahashware who is quick to please with a pure heart. They become
angry in an instant and destroy the entire world. At this time, Lord Mahadeva
is grieving over the separation of his beloved Sati. The evil spirit Daksha has
already wounded their hearts with his arrows in the form of evil words. Go
quickly and ask forgiveness from them for your crimes. Lord Shankara is
immediately satisfied. They forgive their people regardless of the wrongs they
have done to them. I too will go with you to the abode of Lord Shiva and ask
forgiveness from him for you.
Thereafter, Shri Hari
along with everyone went to kailash, the holy abode of Lord Shiva. Everyone saw
Lord Shankar sitting under the most beautiful divine banyan tree on kailash.
Sankadi Rishi, who was aways engaged in devotion to Shiva, was happily sitting
in the service of Maheshwar. The deity of Lord Shiva looked extremely peaceful.
The ashes etc. were adding great beauty to their places.
Seeing Maheshwar in
this divine form, all the gods including Vishnu bowed to him with folded hands
and while praising him they started saying – ‘Maheshwar! You are the original
cause of the entire creation! Because of your fear the wind blows, the sun
burns and death kills. O God! We are extremely sad and humble and have and have
come to you for refuge. You protect us. Please kindly complete Daksh’s
incomplete yajna and give him life. Bhagya’s eyes, Pusha’s teeth, Bhriguki’s
beard and mustache and the body parts of the gods should be restored to their
previous state. Hey Nath! Whatever is left after the completion of the yajna,
it should be your entire share. ‘Saying this, the gods and sages fell at the
feet of Maheshwar like a stick.
Mahadevji became happy
and said – ‘The destruction of Daksha Yagya was not caused by me. Daksh himself
hated others. The behavior done towards others has consequences for oneself.
Therefore, one should never do such work which causes pain to others. Daksha has
been destroyed by his ego. His hatred towards others became the reason for his
destruction. I consider him a child and forgive crimes.’ Saying this, Lord
Shiva healed the Limbs of the gods and sages and gave him life by replacing
Daksh’s head with a goat’s head and completed the Daksh Yagya. In this way,
Lord Shiva’s anger also became a reason for compassion. Even behind the
destruction of Maheshwar, the infinite ocean of his mercy keeps waving.
Har Har Mahadev🙏
